Wilson Language Training

For over twenty-five years, Wilson Language Training (WLT) has been committed to providing quality professional learning and ongoing support so that educators have the skills and tools they need to help their students become fluent, independent readers. That work continues today as we help schools and districts develop their own capacity to successfully educate their students with dyslexia.

Extensive teacher training in the Wilson Reading System® (WRS) is offered through certification programs that include supervised practicum coursework. WRS is designed for students in grades 2-12 and adults who require more intensive instruction due to a language-based learning disability, such as dyslexia, as well as those who are not making sufficient progress in their intervention setting. WRS certification programs support an in-depth understanding of the structure of the English language, as well as mastery of multisensory and diagnostic instructional techniques. Those who achieve WRS Level I Certification are eligible for the Wilson® Dyslexia Practitioner (W.D.P.) credential, and those who achieve WRS Level II Certification are eligible for the Wilson® Dyslexia Therapist (W.D.T.) credential. These recognize the importance of high standards of practice and ongoing development in the field of reading instruction.

WLT also authorizes Wilson® Accredited Partners who are able to offer professional learning for Wilson’s programs after a comprehensive review to ensure that standards of excellence are met.
